Mississippi Residential Property Insurance Underwriting Association

The Mississippi Residential Property Insurance Underwriting Association (MRPIUA) was established by House Bill 1113 of the 2003 session of the Mississippi Legislature. The former Mississippi Rural Risk Underwriting Association provided a residual market for residential property insurance in rural areas of the state. Under the MRPIUA, this will be expanded to provide a residual market for residential property insurance in both rural areas and all other protection classes of the state. It is the purpose of this association to provide a  program to assure an adequate market for residential fire and extended coverage insurance in both the rural and other areas of Mississippi.

MRPIUA OPERATION AND ADMINISTRATION

• The MRPIUA is administered by a Board of Directors and all rules and regulations are subject to the review of the Commissioner of Insurance. The Board of Directors consists of seven members, five (5) to be representatives of the member companies and two (2) licensed agents.
